I loved SVH when I was a kid, so I was pretty excited when "Sweet Valley Confidential" made it's debut. I didn't like the whole Jessica/Todd situation, but at least the book held my interest. Now that this 6 part series has come along, even the writing is awful. The plot is terrible. Some parts of it, like Lila's reality show, is just ridiculous. Her character is titally unbelievable as a real person! I've read the first 2 installments in the e-series and I have no desire to finish it.Product details

Lies and Omissions The Sweet Life Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Francine Pascal Ilyana Kadushin Macmillan Audio Books Reviews
This second serial book picks up right where The Sweet Life #1 An E-Serial leaves off. It is a lot shorter, and a much faster read - especially considering the various cliffhangers that it ends on. And while the pairings amongst the key characters are not ones that I would have selected, so I don't feel invested in their relationships working out, I am definitely excited to see what happens next! I am now officially hooked and looking forward to what next week will bring to these soap operatic plots! This entire set up of weekly releases of short novels reinforces the way the original books were released, so this just feels like a much more authentic continuation of the series!
It's just terrible. I used to love the SVH books, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth. Surely they weren't as horrible as these follow up "e-serials"? I'm embarrassed that I read even one of these, much less two. I definitely did not finish the series.
It took me finishing this book to realize I didn't want to spend any more money on this e-serial. It was Horrible! Thank you to the reviewers who left spoiler alerts. The series could have been fun again. Where are the editors and what not who helped Francine out during the High's heyday?
i coudln't believe how quickly i devoured this...just pure gluttony! more please@
Everybody needs some breezy and light summer reading. This is perfect for an afternoon on the beach. Not to be taken seriously, just fun for SVH fans to indulge some juicy fantasies and frivolous reading! Thumbs up!
The lives of the Wakefield twins and their friends continue to unravel in book two of this six-part e-serial. The sexual accusations of Bruce Patman become public, causing a media outbreak for the multi-millionaire. Elizabeth has made contact with the accuser and helped her find a safe house. She thought Bruce was the love of her life, but the more she investigates the accusations, the more she starts to question his alibi.
Meanwhile, Jessica is trying to help Bruce's image by having female celebrities to say how nice Bruce is and how he would never harm anyone. Elizabeth's actor friend, Liam, is still after Jessica, especially since she has separated from her husband, Todd. After a one-night mistake with Liam, Jessica realizes that she wants Todd back even if it means sacrificing her career.
Lila Flower is having problems of her own as her football husband leaves her for her True Housewife enemy. Steve Wakefield is also dealing with some issues, as he does not agree with how his partner is raising their daughter.
Lies and Omissions is about forty pages shorter than The Sweet Life #1, but the Sweet Valley soap opera is becoming addicting as I read both parts in one day. I wonder if Bruce is lying or if someone is setting him up. I guess I will have to wait until July 22, when the next two parts will be released.
After two installments, I have to admit that the "Sweet Life" is a solidly better book than "Confidential". Yes, the books are moving forward with the insane pairings from that wretched book....Liz is with Bruce, Jessica with Todd; Lila with Ken Matthews and (gulp) Steven Wakefield is with Aaron Dallas. I was drawn in by the first installment of this e-serial and "Lies and Omissions" keeps the Sweet Valley scandals moving. We learn more about Bruce and his accuser. Liz is back to being her too good to be true and somewhat condescending self. She is lying and actually protecting Bruce's accuser while still trying to act like she is supporting Bruce. I can't imagine Bruce is really guilty of these charges but we will have to see as the story unfolds. He definitely had a shocking, `oh no, he didn't!' moment in this book. There is definitely going to be a some fallout after Ken starts dating Lila's new rival, and Caroline Pearce is up to her old tricks spreading gossip like wildfire. Can Todd and Jessica ever make up after he finds out what happened with Liam? We even get to visit with Aaron and Steven in a somewhat humorous scene that ALMOST makes me forget this `jump the shark' pairing.
Yes, I really enjoyed this installment. Darn it! I didn't want to based on principal because of what crazy things had been done to my beloved characters but I definitely think with "Sweet Life" things are getting back on track. I will say that two big inconsistencies still bothered me. We are told that Lila never liked Bruce and we are told that Jessica always knew him far better than Lila, which just blatantly ignores the couples long pairing as a couple in Sweet Valley University. The part featuring Annie Whitman was a nice addition and I did like that they mentioned some of what happened with her and Jessica in book#10 of the original series but I hate that they mistakenly give Charlie Markus the credit that Ricky Calpaldo deserved. Charlie Markus in the books was always a semi-bum, not quite as bad as smarmy Rick Andover but not a good guy either. I'd really like to see this series bring up more memories of the past and be as accurate as possible. Yet right now things seem to be moving along quite Sweetly.
