I received this book as a gift. It's a poignant story set in 1940's Appalachia. The sacrificial choices the young girl makes tugs at your heart. She braves difficult circumstances for the love of family. It was hard to put down!
When visiting my family in Kentucky for the Holidays, I borrowed this book from my sister. It's a great story about a Kentucky Family facing some pretty serious trials. I read it in two days, when I started reading it, I didn't want to stop. I won't say to much about it because I don't want to give anything away, but the stroy has a beautiful twist for a surprise ending. I look forward to more books by this author.
I enjoyed this book. It just had it all. Love, mystery and devotion to the ones you love.
Loved the book, a really good story. This is a perfect book to give as a gift to a fellow Kentuckian.
